Our Mission: Serving You
It is the goal of the Central Illinois Community Blood Center Reference Laboratory to provide customer satisfaction by meeting, or exceeding, the expectations of our clients. To achieve this goal, we will make every effort to resolve, in a timely manner, all antibody investigations, provide antigen negative and/or compatible blood, as well as offer consultation to assist you in resolving your own serological problems by telephone and/or fax.

Our History: Helping medical professionals save lives since 1973
The Reference Laboratory at CICBC was established in 1973 to evaluate complex serological workups by experienced blood bank technologists. The Reference Laboratory performs a wide variety of testing, including the identification and resolution of red cell, platelet, and HLA transfusion-related complexities.

Our Staff
With over 50 years of combined immunohematology experience, our knowledgeable staff of certified Medical Technologists is led by Medical Director Bruce A. Marshall, MD, FCAP, who is board certified in Transfusion Medicine.

Accreditation
The Central Illinois Community Blood Center Reference Laboratory is an AABB accredited Transfusion Service. The Reference Laboratory is working toward Immunohematology Reference Lab (IRL) accreditation.
